West Nipissing seeks performers for Canada Day Celebration

Eager to offer some family-friendly performances this Canada Day? West Nipissing might just be the place you’ve been seeking.

The municipality is looking for performers and artists to entertain revellers during the July 1st celebrations at Goulard Park in Sturgeon Falls. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. However, successful applicants won’t have to fill the entire day. There will four one-hour performance time slots throughout the day.

Bands and solo musicians are welcome to apply, as are dancers, cultural performers, and children’s entertainers. Magicians and comedians are also encouraged to apply, as are community groups and emerging artists.

Selected performers will receive an honorarium. When applying, a question on the form will ask for the performer’s typical fee for a one-hour performance, and with that, the two parties will negotiate an appropriate honorarium.

The performers’ application is available on the Municipality’s website.
