Good Morning Britain star Susanna Reid shared a “dangerous” news update just minutes into the show.

During Tuesday’s (December 9) broadcast of the popular ITV breakfast show, Susanna and her co-presenter Richard Madeley returned to our TV screens as they brought audiences the latest stories from Britain and beyond.

However just minutes into the show, Susanna was quick to inform viewers about the warning, which signifies a potential danger to life, as Storm Bram hits the UK.

Speaking to viewers watching at home, Susanna opened the show by saying: “Good Morning Britain. Warnings of danger to life.

“Storm Bram brings heavy rain and strong wind to the West and North of the UK. Gusts of up to 90 miles an hour and it’s expected to damage homes.”

She continued: “Storm Bram is sweeping into the UK. It came overnight, bringing massive downpours and dangerous winds.

“There are amber weather warnings in place as it is the second highest possible and they are in effect in several areas – warning of a risk to life.”

Co-host Richard explained: “As we speak there are also flood warnings and more than a 100 flood alerts in place across the country.”

The show then cut to chief correspondent Ricahrd Gaisford, who was reporting live from Monmouth, South Wales, which is one of the areas under one of the amber warnings.

It comes as fellow GMB presenters Kate and Adil recently explained to viewers that millions have been urged to stay at home as at the time, Storm Eowyn could bring ‘potentially life-threatening winds with it.’

At the time, the show cut to reporter Nick in West Scotland, who was in a blue raincoat with his hood up, struggling to speak as the winds proved too much for him.

A shocked Kate pointed out: ‘” me, we almost don’t need to speak to you because we can see how much you’re under pressure from those winds. And the red warning doesn’t even arrive until 10am, does it.”

She added: “Are you okay?” A breathless Nick replied: “Yeah, I’m okay. We’re relatively safe here and I could do with a coffee right now but the conditions have really intensified in the last hour.”

The journalist continued to struggle to stand as the wind knocked his balance.

Good Morning Britain airs weekday from 6am on ITV1 and ITVX
