Strictly’s Vicky Pattison breaks down in tears on air after emotional baby news

Strictly Come Dancing star Vicky Pattison has opened up about her plans to have children on the Staying Relevant podcast with Pete Wicks. Vicky and Pete have been close friends for years, so the conversation quickly shifted into how Pete thinks Vicky will be as a mum, which was something that made her quite emotional. The TV personality opened up to Pete and admitted that she’s ticked quite a few things off her vision board for 2025 after getting things she didn’t think she deserved, such as Strictly and Gogglebox.

But she told her friend: “I don’t know what next year looks like for me, I do know it’s probably time I start nuturing my personal life a bit more.” She began talking about her wedding last year and said it was “so special”, but said: “I’m not getting any younger, I think I’m gonna have to look at starting a family, or what that looks like for me.”

She said: “I consider myself to already have a family if I’m honest, with the dogs, but whether I have kids or not.” Vicky questioned what that could look like for her as someone who is “defined a lot by her career”.

The TV star stated that her career taking a backseat so she could focus on becoming a mum was something that scared her, but she said she knew she had to make a decision on it soon.

Pete then warned Vicky that she may cry again before he said: “I have known you for such a long time, and I think you are in a position now where you are in the best stage of your life mentally, you’ve been through so much, you would have always made the best mum ever, but right now, if I could pick anyone to be my mum it would be you.”

Vicky sobbed as Pete added: “I think you would be fabulous, genuinely.” He told her that he’s “excited” for that part of her life.

Last year she addressed her decision to freeze her eggs, something she opted to do in 2023, with Vicky declaring that it wasn’t the right time for her to have children but she wanted to allow her to have the opportunity to have children in the future.

She said at the time, when she first started dating her now-husband Ercan Ramadan: “I started to want things that I had never wanted before, like a house rather than a flat in London and dogs and a slower pace of life and wanting children came on my radar.

“But, even though I’m in a happy relationship, it is still in its infancy and Ercan is younger than me, he’s not ready either. It was a mutual decision. We are in love but we don’t want that pressure.”
