The Celtics added Payton Pritchard late to their injury report ahead of their 7 p.m. Monday game against the Pistons. Pritchard is questionable with a right neck spasm. Jayson Tatum is also listed on the injury report as he rehabs his Achilles injury. Originally, only Tatum was listed but Pritchard was a late addition the day of the game.
Monday’s game was added to the schedule after NBA Cup play, and it pits two of the best teams in the East against each other. The Pistons are an East-best 20-5 as they keep winning. The Celtics are one of the hotter teams in the league at 15-10, but they dropped a game to the Bucks last time out.
The Pistons don’t have any notable names listed on their injury report. Detroit had injury issues earlier this season, but it has been healthy recently. The Pistons are led by All-NBA guard Cade Cunningham, who’s having another stellar season.
If Pritchard is unavailable to play, the Celtics would be down one of their main ball-handlers. Anfernee Simons could see a boost in minutes, along with more Jaylen Brown and Derrick White with the ball.
