The winner of Scotland’s Christmas Home of the Year 2025 has been revealed as the Holly Jolly Mouse House near Cumnock.
Interior designers Anna Campbell-Jones, Banjo Beale and architect Danny Campbell judged five festive homes during the hour-long Christmas special on BBC One Scotland before crowning the champion.
The judges praised the winning home’s magic Christmas spirit and nostalgic charm.
The Christmas version of the popular Scotland’s Home of the Year visited homes in Peterhead, Edinburgh, Millport, Burntisland and Cumnock.

Ellenor and Gary spend months planning the decorations
Holly Jolly Mouse House in East Ayrshire is home to Ellenor and Gary and their two cats Mia and Kimba.
For this couple, Christmas is about festive fun and thinking out the box as they plan their decorations months in advance, with this year’s theme Mouseland.
The decorations include a miniature mouse ski slope in the hall, a Nightmare Before Christmas display with festive mice and a nostalgic room with memories from their blended family such as a rocking horse.

The house near Cumnock beat four other festive homes
Homeowner Ellenor said: “We’re absolutely over-the-moon and, for all our family, this is a memory that we will all treasure.
“Holly Jolly Mouse House winning Scotland’s Christmas Home of the Year will be a topic of conversation at our Christmas table this year and no doubt the coming years.
“I never thought that we would get on the show never mind being chosen to be in the final and ultimately winning.”
Judge Anna Campbell-Jones said she was amazed at the attention to detail and loved the “animal-themed vignettes”.
“A home truly imbued with the magic and generosity of a family Christmas,” she said.

This year’s theme is Mouseland
Fellow judge Banjo Beale said: “It is wonderfully nostalgic, slightly bonkers in the best way, and full of the kind of charm that makes you smile before you even take your coat off.”
Architect Danny Campbell said: “It tackled Christmas challenges with a logic that was equal parts creative and irreverent.
“We saw a three-dimensional fireplace garland sculpture, a staircase reimagined as a ski resort for mice, a snowman piñata built to survive the apocalypse, even individual gingerbread portraits of us.”
Holly Jolly Mouse House scored a full 30 points from the judges.
