NORMAN, Okla. — Maybe spare a thought this morning for woozy old Norman. It just spent a Friday in an emotional trajectory near-impossible to fathom.
It went from an afternoon of exuberance and boom and buzz to an early evening of anticipation and triumph and rapture to pretty much right off a cliff. Its beloved Oklahoma Sooners went from 17-0 and masterfully ahead of Alabama to 34-24 and eternally behind, from the thick of the College Football Playoff to the trapdoor exit, from vibrant dreams of the Rose Bowl to just plain old winter.
