’90s Teen Heartthrob, 45, Finds Love With 54-Year-Old Music Icon

Matthew Lawrence is in love!
The 90s heartthrob, best known for his roles in Mrs. Doubtfire and the television series Boy Meets World, is dating Chilli, 54, from TLC. The two have been dating since 2022 and are still very much in love.
The relationship is very serious, and Lawrence, 45, recently admitted that he’s glad, in a way, that he connected with Chilli later in life.
“I wouldn’t have been ready for this type of relationship in my early 20s. No way,” Lawrence told Us Weekly in an interview published on Friday, Dec. 19. “I think I would have definitely responded the same way, but I don’t know if I would have had the maturity or the experience of knowing what the other side is like, so that I would appreciate [it] as much as I do.”
In the same interview, Chilli, whose real name is Rozonda Thomas, shared that she is open to the idea of marriage.
“You’re going to have things that life throws at you. … But when two people have that foundation of not just being friends and having that love and respect for one another and that person wanting it as much as you, then you have a great chance at having a successful marriage. And of course, you know, I love the Lord, so the Lord has to be the head of that relationship too,” she told the outlet.
Chilli has never been married, though she’s been in two serious relationships prior to finding love with Lawrence. She dated music producer Dallas Austin in the mid-’90s and was with Usher from 2001 through 2004.
Meanwhile, Lawrence was previously married to former Dancing With the Stars pro Cheryl Burke. The two divorced in 2022.
Since going Instagram official in Dec. 2022, Lawrence and his leading lady have shared various photos and videos of their time spent together, most recently in Sardinia, Italy, where they’ve been filming Second Chance Love.
The series, which is hosted by the couple, will be available for streaming on Hallmark+ starting on Jan. 1, 2026. Fans are excited to see what the show is all about and many are thrilled to see Lawrence and Chilli on Hallmark+ together.
“Yay! About time you added Matt to the Hallmark family. Now we need all the Lawrence brothers in a movie,” one person commented on an Instagram promo for the new show.
“This is for the 90s kids,” someone else said.
“The perfect choice for hosts!! Can’t wait to watch! Those matching outfits are too cute Chilli & Matt,” a third comment read.
