Baltimore police mourn the loss of Officer James Beckham in car crash on Saturday

BALTIMORE (WBFF) — The Baltimore Police Department has announced the death of Officer James Beckham, who was involved in a fatal car crash on Saturday.
Police Commissioner Richard Worley expressed the department’s sorrow, stating,
“This is a profound and heartbreaking loss for Officer Beckham’s family, his colleagues in the Northwest District, for our Department and city.”
“I have spoken to Officer Beckham’s family, and our thoughts and prayers are with them during this incredibly difficult time. The Department stands with them and offers its deepest condolences and unwavering support.” Commissioner Worley added.
According to the Maryland State Police, on Dec. 20, just after 8 a.m., troopers responded to a multi-vehicle crash on the inner loop of I-695 before Perring Parkway in Baltimore County.
Officer Beckham was identified as one of the drivers involved in the crash and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Funeral arrangements for Officer Beckham have not yet been determined.
