Philadelphia Eagles cornerbacks Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell, New England Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez, Dallas Cowboys receiver George Pickens, Miami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane and a trio of Denver Broncos linemen are among the first-time Pro Bowl selections for the 2026 rosters, as announced by the league Tuesday.
The NFC offense is led by quarterbacks Matthew Stafford (Los Angeles Rams, starter), Dak Prescott (Cowboys) and Sam Darnold (Seattle Seahawks). The AFC offense is led by Josh Allen (Buffalo Bills, starter), Justin Herbert (Los Angeles Chargers) and Drake Maye (Patriots). Herbert is making his first Pro Bowl appearance since 2021, while Maye is making his first on the original roster (he replaced Allen on last year’s team).
The Baltimore Ravens, Broncos, San Francisco 49ers and Seahawks tied for the most selections among teams with six each. The Cowboys, Detroit Lions, Chargers and Eagles each had five selections.
Twenty-nine teams were represented in the selections, with the Minnesota Vikings, New York Jets and New Orleans Saints left out of the mix.
Among the Broncos’ six selections were three first-timers in offensive tackle Garett Bolles, offensive guard Quinn Meinerz and defensive tackle Zach Allen.
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who led the league in fan voting for the second consecutive year, was selected for his 11th Pro Bowl, which ties him with Jason Witten for the second most all-time among tight ends. San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle Trent Williams was selected to his 12th Pro Bowl, making him just the fourth offensive lineman and first offensive tackle since 1970 to reach that number. 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk made his 10th Pro Bowl, the most ever at his position.
The Pro Bowl was moved to Super Bowl week for the first time this year in hopes of increasing fan and player engagement. It will be held Feb. 3 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco and include a flag football game and skills competition.
Coverage of the Pro Bowl will begin on ESPN at 6:30 p.m. ET; the flag game starts at 8 p.m. ET and will air on ESPN, Disney XD and ESPN Deportes.
Long-time Broncos rewarded
When Sean Payton arrived in 2023, left tackle Garett Bolles and wide receiver Courtland Sutton were starving for stability. The two longest-tenured Broncos had been through a rotating door of head coaches, offensive coordinators and quarterbacks. Each had provided steady production, but it was hard to maximize their potential with so much rotating around them.
Now, in their third year with Payton, Bolles and Sutton are initial ballot Pro Bowl selections for the first time in their respective careers. The honor for Bolles comes in his ninth season, while Sutton, who was an alternate in 2019, is in his eighth season. Both players are having career seasons and are now two wins away from their first AFC West titles as Broncos.
The other takeaway: Three of Denver’s Pro Bowlers: CB Pat Surtain II, RG Quinn Meinerz and OLB Nik Bonitto were selected among George Paton’s first 10 picks as the team’s general manager. Zach Allen, also a first-time Pro Bowler, is the only one of the six selections who wasn’t drafted by the Broncos, and he stands as one of the team’s best free-agent signings in the past decade. — Nick Kosmider, Broncos beat writer

Seahawks moves paying off
The Seahawks have one of the league’s best squads, so it makes sense they are tied for the highest number of Pro Bowlers. The six selections reflect the mixture of youth and veteran savvy on Seattle’s roster. Smith-Njigba (23 years old), Witherspoon (25) and Shaheed (27) are all on their rookie contracts while Leonard Williams and Lawrence are in their 30s. Darnold’s second straight selection is another example of how fruitful Seattle’s offseason quarterback swap has been, and at a relative bargain for Seattle. Darnold signed a three-year, $100.5 million contract and is having a better season than quarterbacks with much richer annual salaries. 49ers putting ‘special’ in special teams
Besides the obvious names like Williams, Juszczyk and RB Christian McCaffrey — within reach 1,000 of yards rushing and 1,000 receiving for the second time in his career — the 49ers also had the most-improved special teams unit in the league represented. Linebacker Luke Gifford was selected for his kick-coverage acumen and 16-year long snapper Jon Weeks earned his second trip, while returner Skyy Moore was named as an alternate. — Vic Tafur, 49ers beat writer
A surprise in a disappointing Ravens season
The Ravens were touted in the preseason as having the league’s best roster, but them getting six Pro Bowl selections has to be considered a surprise. And an early Christmas gift. After all, they are 7-8 and need close to a miracle to make the playoffs. They’re in the midst of arguably their most disappointing regular seasons in franchise history. Punter Jordan Stout is having a breakout year and leads all punters in net average, so he’s certainly deserving. So is Kyle Hamilton, who is one of the league’s best and most unique defensive players. But the Ravens’ other four Pro Bowl selections — fullback Patrick Ricard, wide receiver Zay Flowers, center Tyler Linderbaum and middle linebacker Roquan Smith — either missed some time this year, battled injuries or didn’t have as strong of years as expected. — Jeff Zrebiec, Ravens beat writer
