Maple Leafs’ William Nylander exits with injury vs. Senators

Just as the Toronto Maple Leafs were getting back on track, they might have to deal with an injury to one of their top players.

Nylander appeared to suffer the injury midway through the second period after getting his stick tangled with Senators defenceman Artem Zub. He was able to skate off the ice on his own power, but went to the Maple Leafs’ locker room shortly thereafter.

Nylander had one goal in 8:25 on ice before he was forced to exit.

The 29-year-old has 14 goals and 41 points in 33 games, including Saturday, this season. He went 11 games without scoring a goal before potting two in the Maple Leafs’ final game before the holiday break.
