BBC Breakfast underwent an unexpected format change as Naga Munchetty presented the morning programme on her own.
During Friday’s (26 December) edition of the BBC flagship show, the television presenter, 50, was back on air to bring viewers the latest headlines from Britain and around the globe.
Yet, within moments of the broadcast beginning, audiences were swift to spot that Naga was handling presenting responsibilities single-handedly, appearing without her regular co-hosts.
This marks the second consecutive day the broadcaster has fronted the programme alone, having also presented the Christmas Day special without a co-presenter yesterday.
The programme usually alternates between Jon Kay and Sally Nugent from Monday to Wednesday, before switching to Naga and Charlie Stayt for Thursday through Saturday, with relief presenters covering Sundays, reports the Express.

Those tuning in from home were prompt to voice their observations, with one writing: “#BBCBreakfast Poor Naga is on her own again.”
Another remarked: “Naga’s all on her own today. She probably doesn’t mind, though I thought she’d have someone presenting with her #bbcbreakfast.”
Meanwhile, others were delighted to see the presenter return to their screens, with one saying: “How lush does Naga look today? She’s like a fairy off an ethnically diverse Christmas tree #bbcbreakfast.”
Another contributed: “Hi Naga! Wishing you and all the team a very happy bank holiday Boxing Day. Thank you for being there for us early birds.”

This follows BBC presenter Nina Warhurst’s recent heartfelt tribute as she braced herself for her first Christmas without her father.
In July, 45 year old Nina revealed that her father Chris had passed away, three years after being diagnosed with dementia.
The journalist took to Instagram to share a contemplative post, complete with quotes and a photo of Chris. She wrote: “I am missing my Dad as we head to our first Christmas without him. Something is missing in the world and it hurts. This week I received this email from his former neighbour and it touched me deeply.”
Nina went on to say: “We didn’t know this family but the words paint a gentleman who was warm and reliable. Someone who could breeze the chit-chat, but could be called on in a crisis. Someone with wisdom to offer perspective to bad luck. A good neighbour.

“These are quiet and steady characteristics that are easily overlooked. Small gestures without fuss adding up to something much, much bigger. The world can feel bleak and hopeless but quiet things we do every day hold meaning, and it’s beautiful that a stranger wanted us to know they saw them in Dad.”
The television personality added: “I included here my favourite Middlemarch quote (nearly gave up on it many times, but that small passage made the slog worth it). And one from Vonnegut, who I don’t know but I saved it from @lettersofnote because the sentiment on trying every day is the same. ‘He was a fantastic man.’ He was.”
BBC Breakfast airs everyday from 6am on BBC One and iPlayer
