Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Miami Dolphins preview
The Buccaneers will be desperate to save their season by beating the Dolphins on Sunday. They will still reach the playoffs if they can beat Miami and then NFC South rivals the Carolina Panthers next week and despite their poor form they should a least set up a winner-takes-all showdown with the Panthers.
Tampa Bay wide receivers Mike Evans and Emeka Egbuka plus running back Bucky Irving should all test the home defence, although offensive line issues remain a concern.
The Dolphins’ revival is over after defeats by the Steelers and the Bengals in the last two weeks and they are sticking with inexperienced quarterback Quinn Ewers after benching Tua Tagovailoa, which the Bucs should be grateful for.
The best bet on the game could be a low total. The Dolphins’ offence is less of a threat with Ewers, while the Bucs have scored more than 20 points only once since Week 11 and quarterback Baker Mayfield has passed for 200 yards just once since Week Ten.
The Miami offence wasn’t working with Tagovailoa at QB but it has been even worse with Ewers. The Dolphins should try to run the ball with De’Von Achane, but the Bucs are ranked seventh in the league against the run.
