Ontario 511 has announced that the Highway 17 closure now includes from Highway 548 in Desbrats to Trunk Road in Sault Ste. Marie, and from Garden River to Echo Bay. It has also been extended from the MTO weight scales in Heyden to Mobert. All lanes are closed in both directions.

Ontario 511 has announced that the Highway 17 closure has been extended to the Highway 631 junction in White River.

Highway 17 is currently closed north of the city to due to weather conditions.
According to Ontario 511, the highway is closed between the Highway 563 junction in Batchawana Bay and the Pinewood Drive junction in Wawa.
