Junior Sherrill leaves Vanderbilt football vs Iowa ReliaQuest Bowl with injury

TAMPA, FL ― Junior Sherrill left Vanderbilt football’s ReliaQuest Bowl game against Iowa during the second quarter with an apparent injury.
Sherrill suffered the injury after making a 12-yard catch with 1:57 left in the first half. The Commodores were charged with a timeout for having an injury after the ball was spotted for the next play. He first went into the injury tent holding his hand behind his back, but it was not immediately clear if the injury was to his hand.
He later was shown on the ESPN broadcast heading to the locker room.
Sherrill had six catches for 40 yards in the game prior to the injury. Vanderbilt trailed, 7-3, at the time, then went down, 14-3, shortly before halftime.
Vanderbilt center Jordan White also left the game with an apparent injury and was seen on the broadcast riding the stationary bike during the second quarter.
