Two restaurants exit as one expands in New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Two restaurant companies are no longer in New Mexico while one local restaurant is expanding their operations.
Blaze Pizza and Rusty Taco has closed all of their locations in New Mexico. They both had locations at the Coronado Center, while Blaze Pizza also had a location on Holly near Paseo del Norte and I-25.
While there hasn’t been an official statement on the closures, the Blaze Pizza location names list “CLOSED” and ordering is unavailable for both locations. Ordering is also not available at Rusty Taco in Albuquerque.
The nearest Rusty Taco locations to Albuquerque are now in Phoenix, Denver and Lubbock, Texas. The nearest Blaze Pizza locations are in Phoenix and St. George, Utah.
Meanwhile, Tap and Taco is planning to open a location in northeast Albuquerque. A sign is up in the area of Wyoming Boulevard, near Montgomery Boulevard, indicating the forthcoming opening.
Tap and Taco has a booming location in Rio Rancho on NM-528. The website states four friends started the business with the mission to bring real Mexican street food to life.
There is no word on when the new Albuquerque location will open.
