You can get reimbursed for taking a rideshare service on New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day by a Colorado law firm aiming to discourage drunk driving.
If you take a Lyft or an Uber home on New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day, the Wilhite Law Firm will reimburse up to $20 of that one-way trip in the form of a rideshare credit.
You must complete the online form, which includes submitting a receipt of the ride and a photo of your driver’s license, within two weeks to receive the credit. It could take up to eight weeks to get reimbursed due to the volume of submissions, according to the law firm’s website.
Anyone 21 or older with a valid ID who lives in Colorado is eligible for the reimbursement credit. Rides must be on Dec. 31, 2025, or Jan. 1, 2026, to be eligible.
The Wilhite Law Firm has been offering this program since 2006 as a way to discourage drunk driving and prevent drunk driving crashes, which the law firm says “are 100% preventable.”
The law firm typically offers this program on various holidays throughout the year, including St. Patrick’s Day, Fourth of July and Halloween.
