Islanders’ Horvat sustains injury vs. Mammoth, will see doctor on Friday

New York Islanders forward Bo Horvat sustained what appeared to be a lower-body injury in Thursday’s 7-2 loss to the Utah Mammoth.
Islanders head coach Patrick Roy said there is no immediate update and that Horvat would see a doctor on Friday.
Horvat was forced to leave the game in the third period after he was hit by Mammoth defenceman Sean Durzi. The 30-year-old awkwardly fell to the ice but was able to leave the ice on his own.
The London, Ont. native was recently named to Team Canada for the 2026 Milano-Cortina Olympic Winter Games.
Horvat has 21 goals and 12 assists in 36 games entering today. He did not record a point in 16:43 of ice time.
He missed five games earlier this season due to a lower-body injury and returned this past Sunday against the COlumbus Blue Jackets.
In 848 career games, Horvat has registered 290 goals and 304 assists for 594 points with the Islanders and Vancouver Canucks.
