Woman seriously hurt after hit-and-run near Phoenix-Glendale border

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A woman is in critical condition after a car hit her near the Phoenix-Glendale border early Thursday morning.
Just after 1 a.m., police and fire crews were dispatched to 43rd Avenue and San Miguel Avenue, south of Bethany Home Road. First responders arrived to find an injured woman, who was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police say the woman had been riding an electric scooter when a vehicle struck her and drove away.
Glendale police later found the vehicle believed to be involved nearby and detained the driver. Phoenix officers arrested the man and believe impairment was a factor.
The investigation is ongoing.
