SIGNING: Danish midfielder Oscar Fraulo joins Derby County

Derby County have completed the signing of Danish midfielder Oscar Fraulo.

The 22-year-old has joined from German top-flight side Borussia Mönchengladbach for an undisclosed fee.

Fraulo has signed a contract with Derby which will run until the summer of 2029.

The central midfielder has been a regular in Denmark’s international youth squads over recent years, notably recording 23 caps at Under-21 level for his country.

He initially started his career in his homeland at FC Midtjylland and made his professional debut in the UEFA Champions League qualifying stages at the age of 17 against PSV Eindhoven, before going on to make his league debut a few months later.

Fraulo joined Borussia Mönchengladbach in the summer of 2022 and he made Bundesliga appearances off the bench against Red Bull Leipzig and VfB Stuttgart towards the end of the 2022/23 season.

The 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons saw Fraulo head out on loan to gain first-team experience, moving to the Netherlands to play for FC Utrecht in the Dutch Eredivisie, making 64 appearances in total alongside scoring six goals and registering seven assists.

His first career goal came in spectacular fashion, netting a last-minute strike in a 4-3 victory at home to Ajax.

Fraulo returned to his parent club ahead of the 2025/26 season and made five substitute appearances during the current campaign, scoring in a 4-0 away success at St Pauli.

The midfielder has been capped at Under-16, Under-17, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 level for Denmark and featured four times in last summer’s UEFA Under-21 European Championship in Slovakia.

Welcome to Derby, Oscar!
