Areas above 8,000 feet and west of Vail Pass are under a winter weather advisory while areas between Summit County and the Denver metropolitan area are under a hazardous weather outlook.

Between 3 to 12 inches of snow could fall in areas under the winter weather advisory, such as Vail, Steamboat and Aspen. The advisory is in effect until 5 p.m. Friday. The hazardous weather outlook, which is in effect for Summit and Grand counties along with areas near the Continental Divide and on the Front Range, calls for light snow accumulations with slightly higher amounts for higher elevation areas.

More snow is possible through Sunday. For the latest weather alerts, visit Weather.gov/bou. For traffic information, visit CoTrip.org.
