2025-26 Topps Chrome Basketball Case Hits and SSP Inserts Give All Collectors Chances For a Big Pull

The 2025-26 Topps Chrome Basketball set is the first licensed and full version of the product since 2008-09, so the company wanted to make sure the new set was memorable for collectors.
One way Topps ensured that was by making several case hits and SSP inserts available in every box type, giving collectors on all budgets the chance to uncover a rare find. In fact, more SSPs are available in retail formats than hobby formats.
Many collectors have boasted on social media platforms after beating the odds and pulling a rare insert, and cards from these SSP sets have been fast sellers on secondary marketplaces over the first two weeks of the product’s release.
Below is a summary of the case hit and SSP inserts found in 2025-26 Topps Chrome Basketball.
Hobby-Exclusive SSP Inserts
The hobby-exclusive case hits and SSP inserts are available only in hobby boxes (240 packs per case), jumbo boxes (96 packs per case), and breaker’s delight boxes (8 packs per case).
Rock Stars
Rock Stars are the easiest to find among the hobby-exclusive inserts. A reprisal of a 1990s insert set, Rock Stars are die-cut cards featuring many of the league’s top players and promising rookies. Collectors are not guaranteed to find one in every case, with hobby pack odds of 1:295. These cards can also be found in Jumbo packs (1:147) and breaker’s delight packs (1:14).

Radiating Rookies
Featuring 10 of the most promising rookies from the 2025 draft class, Radiating Rookies feature a brilliant design of radiating streaks in the background that extend to the border, which help accentuate the player image. These cards also feature a special Topps Chrome logo that resembles an atom. They are, however, tough pulls at 1:2,179 hobby packs, 1:434 jumbo packs, and 1:160 breaker’s delight packs.

Retail-Exclusive Inserts
The retail-exclusive case hits and SSP inserts are available in value blaster boxes (280 packs per case), mega boxes (140 packs per case), Fanatics mega boxes (140 packs per case), and hanger boxes (64 packs per case).
Fanatical
These borderless inserts give collectors a good look at a player’s personality. With a bright Refractor shine, collectors can find current stars, rookies, and Hall of Famers on the checklist. Fanatical inserts are the easiest retail-exclusive SSP at 1:290 blaster packs, 1:144 mega packs, 1:71 Fanatics mega packs, and 1:66 hanger boxes.
Paradox
Paradox inserts are eccentric. With the word Paradox wrapped in a ring around the player, a chaotic Refractor pattern, and the player standing on water with his face boldly reflected, there is a lot going on for collectors to look at. That is, after the excitement of a big pull subsides, as these cards have pack odds of 1:933 blaster packs, 1:469 Fanatics mega packs, 1:466 mega packs, and 1:213 hanger boxes.
Patented
Another insert with plenty of design elements is Patented. Featuring the same chaotic Refractor pattern, these cards also have words going in all four directions and plenty of small design accents throughout. The 30 players – a combination of stars and rookies – are prominently pictured in black and white with colorized uniforms. Pack odds are 1:933 blaster packs, 1:469 Fanatics mega packs, 1:466 mega packs, and 1:213 hanger boxes.
Glass Canvas
Glass Canvas SSPs have proven to be one of the most popular concepts with collectors. These cards feature a grand design that also sparks some nostalgia. Topps has captured a glass printing effect while adding three images of each player, and with four screws in each corner, the cards resemble the screw-down cases that many collectors used before the advent of magnetic one-touch holders. Add a holographic border, and collectors have been hooked. Pack odds are tough at 1:1,400 blaster packs, 1:703 Fanatics mega packs, 1:699 mega packs, and 1:320 hanger boxes.

Advisory
Drawing on the idea of a weather warning, Advisory SSPs feature an all-rookie checklist. As in, the NBA should be warned these players are on the way. The design includes caution tape and weather warning posters blowing in the wind. Add in that chaotic Refractor finish, and these cards live up to their name. Pack odds are 1:1,410 blaster packs, 1:709 mega packs, 1:691 Fanatics mega packs, and 1:321 hanger boxes.
Hobby and Retail Inserts
There are five SSPs collectors can find across all box types, but the odds are much steeper when it comes to retail formats.
Ultra Violet
A take on the popular Ultra Violet All-Stars concept from baseball, collectors can pull one of these colorful SSPs with some luck. Highlighted by dual photos of players and a bright Refractor pattern true to the set’s name, Ultra Violet inserts have gained plenty of traction with collectors. Pack odds are 1:1,452 hobby packs, 1:289 jumbo packs, and 1:213 breaker’s delight packs, but retail formats are much tougher: 1:81,494 blaster packs, 1:42,917 mega packs, 1:21,070 Fanatics mega packs, and 1:10,118 hanger boxes.

Helix
A horizontal insert that appears across Topps’ sports spectrum, Helix cards are known for their colorful designs. A helix twists through the background as bright pinks, purples, blues, and oranges blend together to help these cards stand out. Those ripping into hobby products can find Helix inserts at these pack odds: 1:3,205 hobby packs, 1:956 jumbo packs, and 1:160 breaker’s delight packs. Again, retail pack odds are steeper: 1:31,709 blaster packs, 1:23,412 Fanatics mega packs, 1:15,550 mega packs, 1:3,666 hanger boxes.
Let’s Go
Another insert seen in other sports is Let’s Go. Photography dominates the design, with two player images sticking out against a background that looks like smeared paint. The words Let’s Go appear as if they are about to fly away in a flash, a neat tribute to the set’s name. Pack odds for SSP Let’s Go inserts are 1:8,392 hobby packs, 1:2,505 jumbo packs, 1:419 breaker’s delight packs, 1:83,157 blaster packs, 1:70,234 Fanatics mega packs, 1:40,874 mega packs, and 1:9,729 hanger boxes.

The Finals
Numbered to just /50, these die-cut offerings pay tribute to players who spent time in the NBA Finals and include a bright Refractor finish. The die-cutting carves around the Larry O’Brien Trophy, giving these cards a unique look, complete with falling confetti pieces. Hobby odds start at 1:12,899 hobby packs, 1:3,849 jumbo packs, and 1:641 breaker’s delight packs. For retail formats, collectors really have to beat the odds – 1:127,334 blaster packs, 1:70,234 Fanatics mega packs, 1:63,114 mega packs, and 1:14,880 mega boxes.

Hidden Gems
These secret inserts were not included on the checklist Topps provided in advance of the product’s release. Featuring action imagery over a gem-like background image, these cards feature only top talent and do not surface often. These have the steepest odds among base inserts – 1:26,121 hobby packs, 1:7,698 jumbo packs, 1:1,256 breaker’s delight packs, 1:254,668 blaster packs, 1:126,227 mega packs, 1:105,530 Fanatics mega packs, and 1:29,760 hanger boxes.
