Sky Sports star Emma Paton’s rumoured boyfriend and darts skit where she ‘married’ fan

Is Emma Paton in a relationship?
Many fans are keen to know whether Paton is currently in a relationship. However, there is no confirmed status on this matter at present.
Some might interpret the lack of public information as a glimmer of hope that there’s no significant other in the picture. However, it’s also possible Paton simply prefers to keep certain aspects of her personal life private.
Paton has previously revealed she was in a relationship with someone known only as ‘Hannibal’ and that they had purchased a property together. Whether or not this relationship is still ongoing remains unknown.
That said, the former Loughborough University student and 400m runner has revealed her lighthearted nature following a mock ‘wedding’ to publicise last year’s World Championship. Paton even donned a full bridal gown before agreeing to ‘wed’ a supporter.
Tournament sponsor Paddy Power executed its trademark attention-grabbing stunt with Paton’s participation. However, as far as the public is aware, that represents the extent of Paton’s involvement with any genuine marriage ceremonies.
Raucous fans
Enthusiastic crowds can occasionally become overly boisterous at the darts. And the World Championship is where spectators typically reach their most raucous.
It’s part and parcel of the event, though, and Paton fully understands what she signed up for when accepting the position. From brawls erupting among spectators to witnessing a fan being sick into their own footwear, she’s witnessed everything.
“It’s darts – there are rowdy fans for sure,” she told the Daily Mail last month. “But there is a lot of security around, and everyone is ultimately having a good time at the majority of places.
“There have been very few incidents that I have seen. Maybe some of the bigger venues in the Premier League, where there have been fights breaking out, people throwing beer and stuff. But a lot of the time people are just having a good time and enjoying the darts.”
X-rated Littler prank
Nathan Aspinall once branded Paton a ‘f****** k******d’ following a playful prank involving a provocative Luke Littler question. However, the contentious query was completely fabricated and designed with the aim of catching out ‘The Asp’.
Mission accomplished, as viewers could witness from the hidden camera footage. Once again, though, it was all light-hearted banter while promoting the lead-up to this year’s tournament.
In homage to Ant and Dec, Paton sat beside fellow presenter Mark Webster as they supplied questions to be posed to Aspinall. Not all were authentic as he fielded an enquiry about his (fictitious) dispute with the reigning world champion.
“I fell out with Luke Littler? That’s the first I’ve actually heard [of that],” came The Asp’s response in bewildered fashion. “[I spoke with him] about two days ago I think.”
Paton and Webster quickly revealed the truth as Aspinall jumped out of his seat in a mixture of relief and frustration. He let slip a couple of expletives before commending the duo as he added: “So funny!”
