A Good Morning Britain presenter has made a comeback to the ITV programme after being absent for several weeks.
Richard Madeley returned to the central London studio alongside Kate Garraway for the most recent instalment of the popular live broadcast, where they briefed viewers on the latest stories dominating the headlines.
During the programme, whilst speaking with regular commentators Ayesha Hazarika and Kwasi Kwarteng, Richard discussed his recent trip to America.
“I’ve been out of the country for the last couple of weeks, I’ve been in America actually,” he said, with Kate swiftly interjecting: “You’re looking very well by the way. [It’s] lovely to have you back.”
Ayesha observed: “You’ve got a bit of a glow,” whilst Richard responded: “[It] was my first holiday for a year, so I’m not going to apologise for it,” reports the Mirror.

GMB audiences were equally thrilled to witness Richard’s return to the programme, with one viewer posting on X (formerly Twitter): “Richard has returned!”
Another contributed: “We missed you, Richard. Great having you back on #GMB this morning,” whilst a third stated: “Good to see Richard!”
Audiences also found their attention drawn to Kate during the most recent live broadcast, as the cherished presenter wore a checked blue shirt accompanied by a matching tie.
The 58-year-old wasn’t the only woman in the studio sporting a tie, as Ayesha also chose to don the neck accessory. The Scottish politician instead paired her black tie with a black blazer and white shirt.
Elsewhere in the programme, Kate and Richard provided an update on the fatal meningitis outbreak in Kent, following an urgent public health warning. Efforts continue to vaccinate 5,000 students, with another case being confirmed at a second university in the region.

This increases the count of suspected or confirmed cases to 20. The UK’s Health Security Agency describes it as a “rapidly evolving situation”, and is encouraging health professionals across England to be vigilant for symptoms of the infection.
The ITV presenters also discussed the findings of a recent survey, which disclosed that 35% of Brits have confessed to taking a glass home from the pub in the past year. This is costing publicans over £130 million to replenish them.
Later on, Kate and Richard spoke with a farmer who had 200 tonnes of rubbish dumped on his 80-year-old neighbour’s property, whilst Richard Arnold delivered the latest showbiz news.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 6am
