Motorway closed after car and motorbike crash

The M2 has been closed London-bound following an accident involving a car and a motorcycle.
The motorway is shut westbound between Junction 5 near Sittingbourne (the Maidstone/Sheerness A249 turnoff) and Junction 4 (Gillingham, A278) following the crash at about 6.30am.

Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service have all responded to the incident.
A National Highways spokesperson said: “With emergency service crews working at scene, National Highways Traffic Officers implemented traffic management to close the M2 westbound at J5 to provide a safe working area.”
It is not yet known when the road will re-open and motorists are advised to follow the diversion.
Traffic leaving the Port of Dover for London is being advised to use the M20.
