Mac’s Speed Shop shooting | Brothers killed in Fayetteville restaurant shooting; investigation underway, police say

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) — Fayetteville police are investigating a shooting that left two brothers dead at a restaurant on Saturday evening.

It happened just before 7 p.m. at Mac’s Speed Shop at 482 N. McPherson Church Road. According to investigators, an argument inside the restaurant escalated into a physical altercation, which ended in gunfire.

Officers arrived to find Timothy Nakamoto, 43, and Daniel Nakamoto, 45, both shot. Daniel was pronounced dead at the scene, while Timothy was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.

“Nobody deserves this,” a family member told ABC11.

Detectives are questioning a person of interest, the police department said, but no one has been charged. There is no ongoing threat to the public, police said Sunday.
