Bills at Patriots: Potential late injury news on CB Christian Benford

The Buffalo Bills might have revealed their hand ahead of the team’s Week 15 game against the New England Patriots as far as cornerback Christian Benford is concerned.

Benford appeared on Buffalo’s injury report in the middle of last week after sustaining a toe injury in practice. On the Bills’ final injury report, Benford was listed as “questionable” to play.

A practice squad elevation could indicate Benford might be unable to play for the Bills (9-4) on Sunday at Gillette Stadium.

Among two players the Bills called up was cornerback Dane Jackson:

Feeling the need to put Jackson on the game day roster could be a sign Benford will sit this one out.

Missing your top cornerback is never a good sign. Especially against the Pats (11-2) ahead of a huge AFC East contest… and after New England’s quarterback Drake Maye connected with wide receiver Stefon Diggs for 10 catches and 146 yards in Week 5 when these two teams first faced off this season in a 23-20 Patriots win.

Benford’s official status will be revealed 90 minutes before kickoff when both teams announce their inactive lists for the game.

Bills Wire will provide updates as information is made available.
