Daniel Sturridge has just told Liverpool exactly which ‘cold’ Premier League attacker they should target

Liverpool supporters are desperate to see their club sign a new forward during the January transfer window.

The Reds are struggling for options at the top end of the pitch despite spending heavily on Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak last summer.

There had been hope over a move for in-form Bournemouth man Antoine Semenyo, but despite Jamie Redknapp’s claims that Liverpool could still come in, the Ghanaian is bound for Manchester City.

Semenyo is not the only Cherries’ player currently earning admiring glances from the rest of the Premier League, though.

Having scored in consecutive games against Arsenal and Tottenham, Eli Junior Kroupi now has seven goals in only seven league starts. The 19-year-old has earned big praise from former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge, and the Reds should have had their interest piqued.

Rousing The Kop urged fans to keep an eye on Kroupi heading into the season. Having been signed from Lorient, the teenager looked likely to be another gem uncovered by Bournemouth.

He has since proven that theory to be spot-on, and after scoring against Tottenham on Wednesday, Sturridge took to X to declare himself impressed.

“Nah… Eli Kroupi is cold. And already one of the best finishers in the Premier League,” said the former Liverpool star.

“That calmness in front of goal? You can’t teach that.”

A stone-cold killer of a striker in his day, Sturridge knows a clinical finisher when he sees one. And as Liverpool search for the missing piece to their attack, they should be furiously taking note.

Liverpool can turn Kroupi into a superstar

Watching some of Kroupi’s decisive interventions for Bournemouth this season, it is hard to believe that he is still so young.

The Frenchman does have steps to make, including becoming a regular in the Cherries’ XI before he moves to the next stage of his career, but he will surely box that off sooner rather than later.

Once he does, Kroupi can start to look ahead to what is likely to be a stellar career in the game.

Desperately in need of a versatile, quick forward who can put the ball in the net regularly, Liverpool can be the place for Kroupi to reach his full potential.

At the very least, the Reds should be keeping very close watch on the Bournemouth man on the back of Sturridge’s recommendation. If they wait too long his value is going to sky-rocket. Get in there as early as possible, and they may just beat the clamour.
