Anthony Edwards Makes History, Joins LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kobe List in NBA Record Books

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards became just the seventh player in NBA history to score 10,000 or more points before turning 25 years old on Thursday, joining a list of legendary talents.
Edwards entered Thursday’s home game against the Cleveland Cavaliers with 9,977 career points. His two-point jumper with 6:54 left in regulation got him to 23 points on the evening and 10,000 exactly overall.
Edwards finished with 25 points overall on 10-of-20 shooting to help lead the Timberwolves to a 131-122 home win over the Cavs.
The 24-year-old Edwards is a three-time All-Star and two-time All-NBA player who is averaging a career-high 29.3 points on 50.4 percent shooting. The six-year veteran is well on his way to All-Star and All-NBA honors once again as he almost certainly leads 25-13 Minnesota to another playoff appearance.
The No. 1 overall pick has enjoyed a tremendous NBA career thus far, as evidenced by this latest accolade. He’s also enjoyed postseason success, having led Minnesota to the Western Conference Finals in back-to-back years.
For now, Edwards will look to continue his great season Saturday when Minnesota visits Cleveland.
