The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is likely still a month or two away from being unveiled internationally. In the meantime, details about this global model have emerged. Sadly, it seems that Xiaomi is preparing to offer the device with a significant downgrade over the model sold in its home market.
Arguably, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is also the first next-generation Ultra-branded smartphone, too. However, it may not be the first to receive an international release. Unfortunately, one of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra’s key selling points may not grace the device’s global model. For this generation, Xiaomi is expected to cap its Ultra smartphone at a 6,000 mAh battery globally for a circa 12% downgrade on its Chinese counterpart.

Incidentally, this is the same battery capacity found on the Chinese version of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. Moreover, early findings indicate that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will offer 90 W wired charging capabilities regardless of whether you opt for a global model or a Chinese import.
As it stands, the Find X9 Ultra, Galaxy S26 Ultra and the Vivo X300 Ultra are all set to debut within a few weeks of each other from late February to early April. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra could make its international debut around that time too, with Xiaomi expected to showcase the device during MWC 2026 between March 2 and March 5.
