Ronan Curtis signs for Argyle

Argyle have made a first January acquisition, bringing in experienced winger Ronan Curtis on a permanent deal.
The 29-year-old joins from Sky Bet League One side Port Vale on a two-and-a-half-year contract and will bolster Head Coach Tom Cleverley’s forward options.
Having started his career in Northern Ireland at Derry City, Curtis went on to join Portsmouth for whom he made 184 appearances and scored 42 goals. From there, he joined AFC Wimbledon on a short-term contract, before signing for the Valiants in the summer of 2024.
With extensive football league experience, Cleverley is delighted to bring Curtis to Argyle commenting: “We are really pleased to bring Ronan to the club.
“He has played most of his English career at League One level so has knowledge and experience of the division which will only benefit the group of players we have here.
“I am delighted we have been able to bring further quality into the squad so early in the window and I want to thank the Board, Derek and the recruitment team for acting so swiftly.”
Argyle Director of Football, Derek Adams, added: “Ronan is proven at this level and will add real competition for places to Tom’s squad.
“He offers excellent quality in the wide areas, providing goals and assists wherever he has been.
“Alongside that, he is a direct, exciting winger who the Green Army will enjoy watching, and we are really happy to bring him to Argyle.”
Curtis will wear the number 28 shirt. The transfer is subject to EFL approval.
