Micah Parsons recovery update: ‘Healing faster than anyone could have anticipated’

Green Bay Packers defensive end Micah Parsons provided an early update on his “challenging and painful” recovery from ACL surgery on Friday morning. In a post on social media, the Pro Bowler said he is “healing faster than anyone could have anticipated,” an encouraging sign just weeks after he had surgery to repair the torn ligament in his left knee.
It appears Parsons is attacking every day of recovery like he attacks every down on the football field.
From Parsons: “This recovery process is incredibly challenging and painful. Every day, I must enter a state of attack mode to endure the excruciating pain. However, I am gradually improving, healing faster than anyone could have anticipated. I feel Gods hands all over me me through this difficult journey.”
Earlier in the week, Parsons posted videos of his early-stage recovery workouts on Instagram, including work on the stationary bike and unweighted leg extensions.
The typical timeline for an ACL recovery is nine months. Parsons has set September of 2026 as his goal for returning to the field, so expect to hear a lot of “ahead of schedule” updates from Parsons and the Packers during the summer. Coach Matt LaFleur already jokingly said he was ahead of schedule following surgery.
Parsons tore his ACL in Denver on Dec. 14. He had the reconstructive surgery on Dec. 30 in Los Angeles.
Over 14 games during his first season with the Packers, Parsons produced 12.5 sacks and 83 pressures.
