They may appear to have an idyllic marriage – but behind the scenes, sources tell heat that not everything is as it seems with acting couple John Krasinski and Emily Blunt.
‘Things are nowhere near as perfect as they look from a distance. They present as this rock-solid, blissfully united couple, but behind the façade, things are a lot more fraught,’ we’re told.
‘John loves to play the nice guy in public, but when it comes to business, he isn’t afraid to play tough to get control over his projects and their budgets. He’s a hard man to deal with, while Emily is one of the most charming and likeable people alive.’

Seemingly one of the strongest showbiz power pairings around, Emily, 42, and John, 46 – who share daughters Hazel, 12, and Violet, nine – have been together since 2008, and married for 15 years. In addition to being husband and wife in real life, they also starred as a couple on screen in the first two A Quiet Place films, which John wrote and directed. But insiders reveal that the third instalment of the horror franchise will be ‘a test’.
‘John’s very focused on the money side of things and making a huge profit, while Emily wants a great experience for everybody working on the film,’ we’re told.
‘Just because she and John are married, it doesn’t mean she endorses all his methods or his tough-guy approach toward making movies.’

Meanwhile, Emily has grown closer to Dwayne Johnson, her co-star in The Smashing Machine and Jungle Cruise . She called him a ‘best friend’, and praised for being ‘calming’. We’re told, ‘That’s why she’s struck up this really deep friendship with Dwayne. They both have a policy of treating even the lowliest crew members like equals, and they both have a very fun, positive energy.’
Emily and John previously faced split rumours as they walked the red carpet at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards, when lip- reading fans were convinced that he was talking about a divorce. Insiders later denied they were having marital problems.

Our source says, ‘Emily is still doing her best to keep things on track, but if John doesn’t do some serious self-reflection, her patience is going to run out. Friends think a little distance in their work lives could take the pressure down several notches and help them reconnect in a healthier way.
‘Everyone who knows them sees how different their approach to their work is. Eventually, it’s going to reach breaking point.’
