Defending champion Shaun Murphy was beaten 6-2 by Chinese talent Wu Yize while world No.4 Mark Williams lost by the same scoreline to Mark Allen. Mark Selby, who is sixth in the world rankings, also lost 6-2 to Xiao Guodong.
