Report: John Harbaugh working to finalize deal to become Giants head coach

John Harbaugh appears to be Big Apple-bound.
Harbaugh is working to finalize an agreement to become the New York Giants head coach, according to ESPN‘s Adam Schefter.
Schefter added that a deal is not done and numbers are still being negotiated, but Harbaugh is “ready to accept the Giants’ deal” and “the Giants are expected to hire him as soon as possible.”
Harbaugh visited New York’s facilities on Wednesday.
The 63-year-old was fired by the Baltimore Ravens on Jan. 6 after 18 years at the helm, which included a Super Bowl title in 2012.
Owner Steve Bisciotti fired Harbaugh after the Ravens were one of the league’s most disappointing teams this season. They went 8-9 and missed the playoffs after entering Week 1 as one of the Super Bowl favourites.
Baltimore’s season ended when Tyler Loop missed a last-second field-goal attempt, allowing Pittsburgh to hold on for a 26-24 victory in the game that decided the AFC North title.
Harbaugh was hired after coaching special teams and defensive backs for the Philadelphia Eagles. With the Ravens, he went 193-124, including the post-season. He led the 2012 Ravens to a Super Bowl title, and this season was only the sixth time Baltimore missed the post-season under Harbaugh. That’s the same number of times the Ravens won the AFC North with him at the helm.
The Giants, meanwhile, finished the season at 4-13 and fired head coach Brian Daboll in early November.
Harbaugh will take over a New York team that has cornerstones in place with quarterback Jaxson Dart, running back Cam Skattebo, and wide receiver Malik Nabers, among others.
