Georgia football targeting Oregon transfer QB

The Georgia Bulldogs lost a commitment from five-star quarterback recruit Jared Curtis right before the early signing period in December. Georgia and coach Kirby Smart were unable to find another quarterback recruit to replace Curtis.
The Bulldogs have been fairly quiet in the transfer portal, especially at the quarterback position. However, Pete Nakos of On3 named (subscription required) Georgia as an early school to watch for Oregon Ducks transfer quarterback Bryson Beaver.
Beaver has entered the transfer portal after signing with the Ducks during the early signing period. Beaver likely had second thoughts on committing to Oregon after the Ducks returned starter Dante Moore and added Nebraska transfer Dylan Raiola.
The talented passer is visiting Georgia on Friday, Jan. 16. On3 predicts Beaver will commit to Georgia.
Beaver was a four-star quarterback recruit in the class of 2026. He played high school football for Vista Murrieta in Murrieta, California. The talented passer is also considering the Kentucky Wildcats. He signed with Oregon, but could follow former Oregon offensive coordinator Will Stein over to the Wildcats.
Beaver was ranked as the No. 12 quarterback in the nation and the No. 174 recruit. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound passer was the No. 19 recruit in California.
Georgia is expected to return quarterbacks Gunner Stockton, Ryan Puglisi, Ryan Montgomery and Hezekiah Millender for the 2026 college football season. However, if UGA brings in Beaver, then it would not be surprising to see one of Georgia’s four quarterbacks leave.
