Star Wars Jedi Series Part 3 May Be Set For Release In 2026

Part 3 of EA and Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars Jedi series may be scheduled for release this year in 2026.

During the latest episode of the Kinda Funny Gamescast, co-host Tim Gettys mentioned he has “heard some things” that point toward a potential 2026 release window for part 3 in the Star Wars Jedi series. According to him, the Jedi Survivor sequel may follow a relatively compact reveal-to-release cycle. He believes that the game could be announced as early as May, possibly around the Summer Game Fest 2026 window, with its release later in the year, possibly in September.

Back in August, 2025, during an interview with Variety, EA Entertainment president Laura Miele revealed that EA’s current slate tied to Disney and Marvel IP includes Star Wars Jedi part 3 from developer Respawn Entertainment. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was announced and released within the same calendar year, helping build momentum without a prolonged marketing cycle. However, there is some uncertainty over whether the developer would be able, or willing, to replicate that approach with the third entry.

A 2026 release would imply roughly a three-year turnaround since Jedi: Survivor launched in 2023. While not impossible, the timeline may not be realistic, particularly given internal changes at Respawn Entertainment. Game director Stig Asmussen left the studio after the release of Jedi: Survivor, which may have had an impact on the development of the next entry. Ultimately, only time will tell whether the game will end up seeing the light of day later this year.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was released for PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X/S on April 28, 2023. Versions for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One were released on September 17, 2024. It is the follow-up to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and is set five years after. The story focuses on Cal Kestis, portrayed by Cameron Monaghan, as he and his allies fight to endure under the oppressive rule of the Galactic Empire. Like the first game, Jedi: Survivor draws heavy inspiration from Metroidvania-style design, blending lightsaber combat and Force abilities with exploration, traversal challenges, and environmental puzzles.
