Smestow Academy in Wolverhampton closes after man’s body found in grounds

Police are investigating after the body of a man was found in the grounds of a Wolverhampton school.
Emergency crews were called to Smestow Academy at about 10:40 GMT following the discovery, West Midlands Police said.
The school, which has pupils aged from 11 to 18, closed as inquiries begin to confirm the man’s identity and the circumstances around his death, the force added.
In a post on social media, the school confirmed it was shutting from 13:00 GMT “due to an unconnected police incident”, while police asked anyone with information to get in touch.
