Real revive Haaland interest
Erling Haaland and Bernardo Silva’s futures at Manchester City are uncertain ahead of the summer window, according to France’s Foot Mercato.
Real Madrid are said to have revived their interest in Erling Haaland, though they would need to sell Vinicius Junior in order to sanction the move, while Silva’s future is also in doubt, with the Portugal international out of contract at the end of the season.
The publication wrote: “In the midst of a crisis, Real Madrid has revived its pursuit of Erling Haaland for next summer. It’s a complex operation, as the Norwegian is under contract until 2034, and a star player (Vinicius Junior) would need to leave to make room for him and justify the transfer financially.
“This Tuesday, another player is making headlines: Bernardo Silva (31). Captain of Manchester City, the Portuguese midfielder has been a key player for the English club since 2017. Despite past interest from Barcelona and PSG and rumors of his departure, the midfielder has remained loyal to Manchester City.”

Diomande ‘dreams’ of Liverpool
Christian Falk has reported that while the likes of Bayern Munich remain interested in the services of 19-year-old RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, the player “dreams” of playing for Liverpool.
To do so they would have to pay a hefty fee, however, with the Athletic having reported on Tuesday that suitors will have to pay some £87 million to sign the RB Leipzig winger.
In CFBayernInsider, Falk said: “It’s a complicated situation with Yan Diomande, as Bayern already have a number one starter in this position in Diaz.
“So, do they want to spend over €100m [£86.7m] for a player who they’re not sure will start ahead of the Colombian?
“He’s a teenager and a big talent, so Bayern will try something, but I don’t think they’re going to spend so much money on him. Don’t forget that Diomande mentioned he has a dream club he’d love to play for: that’s Liverpool.”
Marseille close on Nwaneri
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has given Ethan Nwaneri’s prospective loan move from Arsenal to Marseille the ‘here we go’ treatment.
The Italian journalist has claimed there is a deal in place for the 18-year-old England U21 international to join Marseille on loan until June, with the Ligue 1 side covering the player’s salary and paying a £3.48m loan fee.
Romano wrote on X: “Ethan Nwaneri to Olympique Marseille, here we go! Deal in place on loan until June.
“OM to cover salary + loan fee around €4m based on appearances. De Zerbi spoke with Mikel Arteta about plans for Nwaneri, #AFC suggested OM as best option.”
Meanwhile, Marseille boss Roberto De Zerbi remained tight-lipped on the prospect of Nwaneri joining.
He told the press: “Regarding the transfer market, I don’t think it’s the right time to talk about it. I know him, he’s a good player. But you’ll have to ask [president Pablo] Longoria.”
Gomes tipped to leave
According to L’Equipe, Marseille are pushing for Angel Gomes’ departure just six months after the England midfielder’s arrival at the Stade Velodrome.
Marseille’s hierarchy reportedly want Gomes to leave so they can then sanction the signings of Quinten Timber and Himad Abdelli.
L’Equipe’s report reads: “While Marseille are keen to sign Angers midfielder Himad Abdelli and Feyenoord midfielder Quinten Timber during this winter transfer window, Angel Gomes’ future looks increasingly uncertain.
“As announced in December, the club and the player, who arrived in Provence on a free transfer last June, were preparing for an early departure, and in recent days, the England international (4 caps) has been informed by the club’s management that he must find a new club by February 2nd.”
