Will a major snowstorm hit the Philadelphia region the weekend of January 24 and 25? Here’s what we know so far

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — There is a potential for a snowstorm to hit the Philadelphia region the weekend of January 24 and January 25, 2026.

However, the exact impact of the storm remains unclear as of Tuesday.

What we know about the possibility of a weekend storm in the Philadelphia region

A system will be moving toward the East Coast from the southwest, and could potentially bring snow.

However, an Arctic high will also be in place that could prevent the bulk of the storm from hitting our area.

We will continue to monitor this system over the next few days to see how it develops.

Either way, it will be a brutally cold weekend with highs in the teens to near 20.

Because the system is still several days away, it’s still unknown when – or if – it will hit.

The cold weather will continue into the following week, leaving little chance for any snow we get this weekend to melt.
