What Did Brooklyn Beckham Say About His Parents?
To summarize, David and Victoria’s eldest son, Brooklyn, shocked the internet when he took to his Instagram Story on January 19th to air his grievances with his parents, claiming that his wife Nicola “has been consistently disrespected by my family.”
He added that their actions were “leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.”
Reports of tension between Brooklyn, Nicola, and his parents have been circulating for several years, even dating back to their wedding in 2022. At the time, it was widely reported that Nicola was due to wear one of her (soon-to-be) mother-in-law’s iconic designs, but that plan reportedly fell through at the last minute.
Brooklyn fully aired everything in his Instagram Story while the world watched on with popcorn, with one of the most telling parts of his confession reading: “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”

One of the biggest talking points from his statement centered on Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding in Palm Beach, Florida, with Brooklyn claiming Nicola was disrespected in the lead-up to the big day. He also alleged that he himself was humiliated during the reception due to something his mom did…
“The night before our wedding, members of my family told me that Nicola was ‘not blood’ and ‘not family.’ Since the moment I started standing up for myself with my family, I’ve received endless attacks from my parents, both publicly and privately, that were sent to the press on their orders,” he wrote, before turning his attention to the first dance.
“My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song,” he continued. “In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage where the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife, but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me. She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable and humiliated in my entire life.”
He added: “We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment.”

In the clip, Brooklyn and Nicola appear to be repeatedly ignored by Victoria on the red carpet, which made fans sympathize with the 26-year-old. “Turning your back literally on your son… in public. Do better Vic,” slammed one fan in the comments of a Page Six post featuring the resurfaced clip.
“Not a good look Victoria… get some therapy!” exclaimed a second, as a third criticized: “Mom’s is cold. She doesn’t even acknowledge him.” “Her body language was meant to dismiss her son in that moment. Sad, but good for him supporting his wife during those hurtful moments,” noted a fourth.
“Poor Brooklyn, he feels so awkward there,” observed a fifth. “I believe the boy!” exclaimed a sixth, as a seventh echoed: “So sad, I feel for him.
