Hallmark already has numerous projects in the works that will air in the months ahead, including some unique ones. Apparently, one of those projects involves Hallmark veterans Nazneen Contractor and Andrea Canning.
A teaser has emerged indicating that Canning and Contractor have worked together on a screenplay for a new project that will have a Bollywood vibe. Unfortunately, not many details about it are known yet.

According to the website Mystery and Romance TV, on January 20, one of the projects coming to Hallmark in the months ahead is a Bollywood-inspired movie.
“Bollywood” refers to the moviemaking industry in Bombay, India. Movies in the Bollywood genre often include emotional storylines along with lots of dance and music.
The upcoming Bollywood-style movie won’t be entirely new to Hallmark. The network has previously aired movies featuring storylines inspired by Bollywood themes. In 2024, Hallmark aired “Christmas With the Singhs,” and another previous film was titled “Make Me a Match.”
A teaser about the new project was noticed by the Mystery and Romance TV website in an Instagram Story posted by “A Christmas Ring” star Contractor.
Contractor shared a photo of her “beautiful multi hyphenate writing partner,” Canning, whose family is featured in a new Hello! Canada magazine spread. Contractor noted that Canning was “promoting our next project!”
The caption on the photo that Contractor reshared from Hello! Canada read, “Snow time! The photogenic family look like they’ve stepped onto the set of a feel-good holiday movie – something Andrea knows a thing or two about.”
It continued, “The multi-tasking star has written 20 Hallmark screenplays, including an upcoming Bollywood-style romance co-written by and starring Toronto actress Nazneen Contractor.”
Canning is widely known for her work on “Dateline.” However, she has also written numerous Hallmark movies, such as “A Merry Scottish Christmas.”
As Mystery and Romance TV noted, it does not appear that Hallmark has formally announced any details about this upcoming film.
Hallmark Fans Are Already Buzzing Over the Bollywood-Inspired Movie
Hallmark fans are eager to learn more about this upcoming Hallmark movie.
In the Hallmark movies subreddit, one Reddit user commented, “As an Indian I’m excited to see what Hallmark cooks up in a Bollywood style. Glad to see my girl Nazneen back.”
One fan on Instagram gushed, “I am excited about this one!!!”
Another raved, “How exciting! Love all of this news!!”
Someone else added, “Excited for a Bollywood inspired movie and a return for Good Witch.”
Mystery and Romance TV also noted that buzz regarding a return of “The Good Witch” seems to be escalating.
“The Good Witch” star Catherine Bell recently teased fans with a reunion with both TV husbands, Chris Potter and James Denton. In addition, in November 2025, Screen Rant shared tidbits from Bell’s appearance at the Motor City Comic Con.
When asked about a return of “The Good Witch,” Bell said, “Well, unofficially, I’ve been telling people…that yes, there are finally some plans for another movie or two.”
Bell added, “Well, they haven’t written the script, but it has been requested, and it is in the works.”
