‘The Blind Side’ Actor Quinton Aaron Hospitalized After Collapsing

Quinton Aaron, who played the unlikely all-American football player Michael Oher in The Blind Side, has been hospitalized in Atlanta after collapsing at home.
A GoFundMe page for Aaron said the 41-year-old was on “life support due to a severe blood infection,” though his manager has since said his condition is stable and he is communicating with others.
His manager told TMZ that Aaron fell while walking up the stairs in his apartment last week, though what caused his legs to buckle is not yet known.
In a statement to The Daily Mail, Aaron’s manager Katrina Fristoe said: “The family deeply appreciates the outpouring of support from fans and the media but respectfully requests privacy during this time.”
Fristoe said he is “receiving excellent medical care” and is with his family. An update will be issued once Aaron is in a better condition. Deadline has contacted Fristoe for comment.
The GoFundMe page had raised $1,393 of the $10,000 target at the time of publication. It read: “Quinton is currently hospitalized and on life support due to a severe blood infection.
“This has been sudden, frightening, and overwhelming for his loved ones. As he fights for his life, his family is facing an immense emotional and financial burden — medical expenses, living costs, and the uncertainty of how long this road to recovery may be.”
Aaron, whose other credits include 2016’s Mothers and Daughters and Halfway, made headlines last year after he revealed his dramatic weight loss.
The Blind Side was released in 2009 and helped Sandra Bullock clinch an Oscar. The film was also nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards.
