Full slate of PWHL action on TSN ahead of Olympic break
It is the last day of action before the PWHL takes its Olympic break as all eight teams hit the ice tonight on TSN.
The Montreal Victoire host the Toronto Sceptres in an all-Canadian matchup, followed by the Seattle Torrent taking on the Ottawa Charge, the Boston Fleet hosting the New York Sirens, and the Vancouver Goldeneyes facing the Minnesota Frost.
Victoire vs. Sceptres – 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT on TSN5, TSN.ca and the TSN App.
The Victoire host the Sceptres as they look to head into the Olympic break on a three-game winning streak.
Montreal has five players heading to Milan to represent Team Canada: forwards Marie-Philip Poulin and Laura Stacey, defenders Erin Ambrose and Kati Tabin and goaltender Ann-Renée Desbiens, while the Sceptres have six players: Renata Fast and Ella Shelton as well as forwards Emma Maltais, Natalie Spooner, Blayre Turnbull and Daryl Watts.
The Victoire are 5-2 since the calendar flipped to January, with both losses coming against the Sirens.
In their most recent outing on Saturday against the Ottawa Charge, Maureen Murphy led the way with two goals while Desbiens had 23 saves for the 3-1 win.
It has been the opposite for the Sceptres in January as the team is 1-5 this month. Their only win came on Jan. 17 against the Vancouver Goldeneyes at Scotiabank Arena as Watts scored the overtime winner.
Torrent vs. Charge – 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on TSN+
The Seattle Torrent come into tonight’s action in last place in the PWHL.
Seattle is 2-4 in January and are coming off a 3-1 loss to the Goldeneyes on Sunday in Denver where Jessie Eldridge had the team’s only goal.
Forward Julia Gosling will be representing Canada at the Olympics after having a strong season with the Torrent. As a rookie with the Sceptres in 2024-25, she had four goals and 10 points in 30 games.
This season, the 2024 sixth-overall pick has broken out, with six goals and 12 points in 13 games to lead the Torrent in scoring.
For Ottawa, captain Brianne Jenner has had a bounce-back season as she gears up for her fourth Olympics with Canada.
The reigning Olympic women’s hockey MVP has eight goals and 14 points in 15 games this season.
Sirens vs. Fleet – 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on TSN+
Aerin Frankel and the Fleet look to maintain their hold atop the PWHL standings as they host Sarah Fillier and the Sirens.
Frankel has continued to be one of the league’s best goaltenders this season, going 8-2-2 with a .950 save percentage and 1.23 goals-against average.
She will be representing Team USA in Milan.
Fillier has run into a bit of a sophomore slump this season with just one goal and eight assists in 14 games this season after scoring 13 goals with 29 points in 2024-25.
However, she will still play a big role for Team Canada as Fillier aims for a second career Olympic gold medal.
Goldeneyes vs. Frost – 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT on TSN5, TSN.ca and the TSN App
The Goldeneyes look to head into the Olympic break on a high after picking up two straight wins.
Veteran forward Sarah Nurse returning to the lineup has been big for Vancouver. Nurse had two goals in a 5-0 win over her former team in Toronto on Thursday, and picked up an assist on Sunday against Seattle.
Nurse is heading to her third Olympics for Canada. She had a record-breaking tournament in 2022, notching the most assists (13) and points (18) in a single women’s tournament as Canada went home with the gold medal.
The two-time reigning champion Frost will also be well represented in Milan with six players: forwards Taylor Heise, Grace Zumwinkle, Britta Curl-Salemme, Kelly Pannek and Kendall Coyne Schofield as well as defender Lee Stecklein, all representing Team USA.
Coyne Schofield leads the PWHL in goals (10) and points (16) this season with Pannek, Curl-Salemme and Heise all not far behind with 14 points on the season.
