Report: Bills hire Pete Carmichael Jr. as offensive co-ordinator

Just a few days into his tenure as the Bills’ new head coach, Joe Brady has made his first hire.

Buffalo has agreed to terms with Pete Carmichael Jr. to be the team’s new offensive co-ordinator, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported on Friday.

Carmichael, 54, spent the last two seasons as the senior offensive assistant for the Denver Broncos.

He previously spent 18 seasons as an offensive assistant for the New Orleans Saints, with 15 of those as offensive co-ordinator. He won a Super Bowl with the team in 2010.

Carmichael began his coaching career back in 1994 in the NCAA with New Hampshire. His first NFL experience came with the Cleveland Browns as a tight ends coach in 2000.

Brady, who spent the 2017 and 2018 season as a young offensive assistant with the Saints, now reunites with Carmichael to help run the team’s offence.

However, Carmichael won’t be the one running the offence as the new Bills head coach made it clear that he will be calling the plays.
