Snowy Saturday expected in the Carolinas: Latest forecast here
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Snow showers are underway in our mountain communities and will stay confined there through the rest of the evening on Friday. This will give us time to wrap up our last-minute errands and snow preparations.
Temperatures will fall out of the 40s and into the 30s tonight, with only the 20s expected all day long on Saturday.
Overnight, snow showers will increase in coverage and intensity and continue through Saturday.
This will be light, fluffy snow, and with gusty winds in the forecast, it could blow around on the roads, making travel even more hazardous.

We could see 4-6 inches of snowfall across most of the area, with 6-8 inches possible in our mountain communities. Dry air could cut into some of those totals to our east, but there will also likely be some areas that see even more than that 4-6″ range.

A winter storm warning is in place as a result through Sunday.
The next big concern will be the blustery cold conditions Saturday into Sunday.
With wind chills as low as -20-degrees in the mountains and -5-degrees for the rest of us into Sunday, an extreme cold warning has also been issued for our area. With wind chills this low, hypothermia and frostbite are our main concerns. Stay bundled up if you plan to be out in the snow.
