Bomb cyclone brings historic snow to North Carolina, flurries to Florida

A dangerous nor’easter, which underwent rapid intensification into a bomb cyclone offshore of North Carolina on Saturday night, has covered parts of the Southeast with more than a foot. Blizzard conditions and high winds swept through, leading to a significant pileup on Interstate 85 north of Charlotte — which the storm hit particularly hard — and bringing flurries all the way down to Florida.
