McDonald’s Brings Back ‘Most Requested’ Item After 39 Years

After 39 years, McDonald’s “most requested” item ever is finally back.

For the first time in decades, McDonald’s Changeables Happy Meal toys will be back on the menu. McDonald’s told FOX Business that the fast-food chain is bringing back the iconic toys from the past so a new generation can enjoy the fun, too.

“The beloved toys that first stole fans’ hearts in the late ‘80s and early ’90s will return to restaurants for a limited time, giving kids and grown-ups alike the chance to get one of 16 Changeables that transform into classic McDonald’s icons,” McDonald’s USA told FOX Business in a statement.

If you don’t know, Changeables are toys that transform from a McDonald’s food item into a robot-like or dinosaur-like character. Introduced to Happy Meal toys in the late 1980s and 1990s, these classic toys quickly became a fan favorite.

According to a statement from a senior marketing director at McDonald’s on X, McDonald’s Changeables were the most requested Happy Meal item across social media and through customer service.

“McDonald’s Changeables are back on 1.27, featuring updated versions of both the robot and dinosaur designs from the original three Happy Meal programs released in 1987, 1989, and 1990,” Guillaume Huin wrote on X. “Changeables were—by far—the most requested Happy Meal program on X, across social media platforms and through customer service.”

Huin went on give more details on the relaunch in the thread on X.

“There will be a total of 16 characters to collect in the Changeables Happy Meal program starting 1.27. Every single design has a name and its own little personality. I have a soft spot for Teef Rex I won’t lie,” Huin posted on the thread announcing the Chanegables relaunch X.
