Hydro One says new maintenance and infrastructure work is underway in the Delhi area following ongoing concerns about frequent power outages.

Norfolk County Councillor Mike Columbus shared an update from Hydro One’s Municipal Relations Department this week, outlining several steps being taken to improve system reliability.

According to Hydro One, crews have already completed a site inspection and are proceeding with both forestry maintenance and equipment repairs.

Hydro One says tree trimming and vegetation management will be completed next week, while repairs to feeder equipment are already in progress.

These measures are intended to address immediate reliability issues that have impacted residents over the past several months.

In addition to short-term fixes, Hydro One says it is advancing a future feeder project to further strengthen the electrical system in the community.

The project has been moved up by one year and is now expected to be completed in 2028.

The update follows public frustration expressed on social media and comments made by Councillor Columbus at a recent Norfolk County council meeting.

Columbus said residents have experienced multiple outages, some lasting more than a full day during cold weather.

While Columbus acknowledged the issue is a provincial responsibility, he said he has been in regular contact with Hydro One officials, who are aware of the concerns and continue to review infrastructure plans for the area.
