Exclusive: Birmingham, West Brom & Leicester eye late move for Premier League midfielder

West Brom, Birmingham City and Leicester City are among the Championship sides considering a late move for a Premier League midfielder, who is set to be sent out on loan.

Ramsay under pressure at West Brom

West Brom boss Eric Ramsay insists he knew the challenge he signed up for after his Baggies side were dominated by relegation rivals Portsmouth in a 3-0 defeat.

Ramsay replaced Ryan Mason in the Hawthorns hot seat 20 days ago, but has failed to turn around the poor form with three defeats and a draw.

Pompey trio Conor Chaplin, Millenic Alli and Ebou Adams had the latest failing won inside 48 minutes, meaning the beleaguered Baggies have won just once in nine matches, have not won on the road since the start of October and sit just three points outside the relegation zone.

Ramsay said: “I knew the level of challenge I was coming into. I hoped the first four games had gone differently and when we got to this stage, we were in a different situation.

“The reality means I have to stay level, stay constructive and keep the group on track. I have to believe I can get more out of the group.”

Both West Brom and Leicester are eyeing Russell Martin, with the Foxes currently searching for a new permanent boss after parting ways with Martí Cifuentes.

Championship sides chasing Nottingham Forest’s Kyle McAdam

Several Championship sides are weighing up a deadline-busting move for Kyle McAdam, who will be sent out on loan by Nottingham Forest with the Reds working to sign their own more senior midfielder today, Football FanCast sources understand.

The English transfer window closes at 7pm, but clubs can complete signings after that time if they turn in a deal sheet.

West Brom, Leicester and Birmingham are all eyeing McAdam, a 21 year-old midfielder who usually plays off the left but can also play as a box to box midfielder or even at full-back.

The Foxes may have the upper hand in creating a quick path to negotiations in what is a race against time, given the youngster is represented by the same agency as King Power stalwart Oliver Skipp.
