Canucks’ Filip Chytil leaves game vs. Mammoth

Chytil did not join his teammates for the start of the third period and was ruled out by the team shortly after. He skated 7:36 against the Mammoth and was minus-three with one shot on goal.
While the team initially did not give a reason for why Chytil left the game, head coach Adam Foote said post-game that the forward had “tweaked something.”
When asked a follow-up if the injury was related to Chytill’s history with concussions, Foote replied: “I hope not.”
The 26-year-old was playing in just his 12th game of the season after a concussion cost him three months from mid-October to mid-January. He had just returned to the lineup on Jan. 23 but has dealt with multiple concussions over his nine NHL seasons.
“From the beginning, it was very hard, because I was hopeful that I can manage to play all 82 games, but it wasn’t the case…” Chytil told reporters in January. “Sometimes it’s the days like this, the last two years, that have been very hard for myself and for my wife, for my family, especially. I missed so many events, I missed so many games in NHL, now I’m gonna miss Olympics as well. So it sucks, but it is what it is.”
The Canucks lost to the Mammoth 6-2 and will close their pre-Olympic schedule on Tuesday against the Vegas Golden Knights.
